Exhibit A: The Meatball Toupee

September 16th, 2026

By Emergency Contact (EC)

There are a lot of things nobody tells you about babies.

They don’t tell you how loud they sleep.

They don’t tell you they can somehow be completely unconscious while simultaneously kicking you directly in the tit.

They don’t tell you that eventually they discover their own feet and react like they have personally invented toes.

And apparently, nobody tells you that your baby may arrive with one geographically specific parcel of hair.

Not a hairy baby.

Not even a particularly fuzzy baby.

Just—

one patch.

Between her shoulder blades.

That’s it.

I discovered this while admiring the Spicy Meatball, as one does, when I noticed what appeared to be a small tuft of hair occupying a very specific piece of upper-back real estate.

Naturally, I investigated.

Because I am her mother.

And because apparently I have nothing better to do than conduct a full zoning inspection of my infant.

My findings are as follows:

Exhibit A: The Meatball Toupee

Location: Upper back.

Purpose: Unknown.

Rent: Unpaid.

Zoning: Apparently approved.

There is no corresponding patch on the other side.

There is no trail.

There is no larger hair-related development happening elsewhere.

Just one tiny fucking plot of land between her shoulder blades where somebody during manufacturing apparently went:

You know what this baby needs?

More hair right here.

And then clocked out.

I have questions.

Was this an optional feature?

Did she request it during manufacturing?

Was there a customization menu I wasn’t given access to?

Because I distinctly remember building this entire child from scratch, and at no point was I consulted about the installation of a rear-mounted toupee.

Yet here we are.

Five months into motherhood with the Spicy Meatball, and I am learning that babies are basically tiny mystery boxes.

Every week they unlock some new feature nobody ordered.

One day it’s angry pacifier raspberries.

The next it’s discovering their feet and spending the afternoon absolutely fucking astonished that they’ve apparently been there the entire time.

And then one random day you realize your daughter has quietly been operating an unauthorized hair farm between her shoulder blades.

Honestly?

Go off, queen.

She’s been here five months and already understands one of life’s most important lessons:

If you’re going to do something weird, do it with your whole chest.

Or back.

Or whatever.

Don’t grow back hair everywhere.

That’s overkill.

Grow one patch.

Make them wonder.

Give them nothing.

Refuse to elaborate.

Just a girl. 💅✨

Anyway, I will continue monitoring the property for unauthorized expansion.

For now, the Meatball Toupee remains exactly where I found it:

Location: upper back.

Purpose: still unknown.

Rent: still fucking unpaid.

Apparently motherhood requires supervision.

So does infant zoning.

Also, does anyone know if I have to mow this thing?
